Karnes Coffey is a multi-disciplinary branding, design and creative marketing studio in richmond, virginia.
Our creative direction seeks to engage versus present; create connections versus ephemera; and present uniqueness versus trends. We like to keep things small so we can work with our clients directly and not have to worry about the bottom line affecting the work we do. To facilitate this, we have a diverse network of like-minded professionals that we have been working with for years who we collaborate with depending on a project’s scope.
Our creative culture can be distilled to these seven core values:
• Identify the critical insight.
• Pursue the power of creative.
• Embrace design and form.
• Create relationships, not simply campaigns.
• Do more with less.
• Understanding that creativity is solving problems.
• Having an open and honest relationship with our clients.
Eric Karnes : Owner, Creative Director
Eric is the dreamer artist type—always searching for the perfect formal solution. Overly self-critical of all his work, he stays up all hours of the night tweaking the smallest details to maintain his sanity. He likes paper and Scotch tape. Hates money and limitations. His dad is a painter and he went to art school for graphic design. He rarely does his taxes on time and still has a lot of money in an account somewhere that he can’t remember the pin to. Or what bank it’s in for that matter. You can also catch his poster work at the Karnes Poster Co. or him teaching in the Graphic Design department at Drexel University.
Christine Coffey : Owner, Creative Director, Account Manager
Christine is the realist artist type—always searching for just the right idea to create meaning for the solution. She loves research and cleverness and sketching tons of ideas in the bright light of dawn. She likes considering the big picture and working with others. Hates the cold and having to watch her language. Her dad is an engineer and she went to communications school for graphic design. Her taxes are always done months early and, fortunately for our clients, handles all accounts for the studio.
Karnes Coffey : A balance. Together our clients get the full package. We can promise that the work we do for you will always be appropriate and goal-oriented. We seek to engage versus present; create connections versus ephemera; and present uniqueness versus trends. We like to keep things small so we can work with our clients directly and not have to worry about the bottom line affecting the work we do. To facilitate this, we have a diverse network of like-minded professionals that we have been working with for years who we collaborate with depending on a project’s scope.
Depending on a client's needs, we often collaborate with a highly experienced and talented team of creators and strategists.
