VCUARTS BRAND REFRESH
Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) is ranked #1 in the country for an accredited, public four-year art and design school. VCUarts is made up of 16 buildings on the urban VCU campus in Richmond, Virginia offering 25 degree programs to over 2,800 students.
Problem : This client came to us to fix their longstanding logo and develop a contemporary and flexible identity system that would appeal to applicants.
Solution : A brand that is always able to change was the solution for this dynamic, artistic client. We used two of the most entrenched arts and design concepts—the grid and color—to create a flexible system that allows for a diversity of combinations to create energy and excitement. It speaks to their audiences’ core values as artists while also gives their in-house designers a system that has enough diversity for any program, media or audience.
